The Primavera Shawl is inspired by one of my favorite pieces of art by Italian Renaissance painter, Sandro Botticelli in 1482. La Primavera—which means “Spring”,  is among the greatest works at the Uffizi Museum in Florence, Italy.

This garment is knitted bottom up in one flat panel, then folded in half and seamed with a 3-needle bind off worked along a portion the top edge on the right side to create an accent seam, leaving an opening for the head. It can be worn multiple ways as both an   asymmetrical over the head shawl or a poncho.

Pattern is suggested for advanced beginners, for those knitters ready to learn new skills or stitch combinations.

Stitches/skills include: Lace Star Cluster Stitch, Stockinette Stitch
